Good evening, everyhoof:
Today, we’re going to go over the top five movies out of all the movies:
The Lion King (1)
The Lion King is the best movie because of its timeless wisdom.
Castle in the Sky (2)
Castle in the Sky is a Miyazaki movie and is the second-best movie because it involves a castle and the sky, which is an excellent combination.
Life of Brian (3)
Life of Brian is the third-best movie because it provides a comedic depiction of the absurdity of existence.
Pirates of the Caribbean (4)
Pirates of the Caribbean is the fourth-best movie because it is an epic adventure involving a very good main character actor.
The Truman Show (5)
The Truman Show is the fifth-best movie because it is both a comedic and dramatic depiction of a man’s search for meaning in life. It also has Jim Carrey in it.
Overall, while there are other movies that are good, this list contains the crème de la crème of film. It was a somewhat difficult choice, and I would have liked to have included others as well, but I think this list covers about all the important varieties of movies, with most of the others being just combinations or derivations. For example, “Frozen,” although good, is somewhat similar to “The Lion King” in terms of overarching lessons and has more strength of cultural context. “Idiocracy” might be seen as a variation on both Life of Brain and The Truman Show, and is not quite up to quality standards. The movies in the “Harry Potter” series may be seen as derivative of Pirates of the Caribbean. The Princess Bride and Robin Hood: Men in Tights are also good ones, but they could also both be seen as variations of Life of Brian.
But what does this have to do with ponies? If you think you know, post in the comments below.
And remember: Always look on the bright side of life.
