Good evening everypony,
Mares… what are mares? Mares are rarely even mentioned in MLP:FiM, yet somehow they have become the defining way in which ponylove is expressed in 2024. Ten years ago, it was all about awkwardly being a Brony. Nowadays, however, Bronyism seems to have become irrelevant – instead, it’s all about the mares. There were a few mentions of mares in MLP:FiM that I recall — there was the mysterious mare-do-well, although that wasn’t too popular of an episode. I think I remember a “miss mare” in one of the episodes…. so, I think it is a relatively uncommonly-used term in the show. Hence, why it is a good term to define the apparent pony revival.
When I consider songs of a similar molecule to “Mares Inside” by ElectroKaplosion (ElectroKaplosion) I think of:
The first song is about love of peaches – then ninjas show up, beat a guy up, but then the peachlovers win. The second song is about a guy who likes things not considered normal, yet doesn’t see why he can’t fit in with his foil; Weird Al’s “Virus Alert” song may also be partly relevant here, as well, in reference to the club at least. Lastly, the 20% Cooler song explicitly says what “Mares Inside” implicitly says. And ponies.
I’m sure there are other combinations of songs that would work here, as well. Which songs and/or videos do you think are similar to “Mares Inside?”
